A lot of changes and we’re not just talking about the fall leaves.
We have 24 more additions to the list and many are ones who were once committed to other schools.
As noted above, when Hofstra coach Larissa Anderson took the Missouri job in May, it led to some talented players like Jenna Laird decommitting from Hofstra. She is the third of James Laird’s daughters to play college ball–two older athletes played Div. II softball.
Here’s what Jeanna wrote on Twitter when she announced the switch about two weeks ago:
Conversely, with the coaching change at Mizzou, a standout early verbal in power hitter Joley Mitchell, one of the top prospects in the Class of 2019, decided to look elsewhere and will be headed from the SEC to an ACC school.
Speaking of the SEC, our Twitter Verbal of the Week is Kat Grill, one of several standouts on the Gainesville Gold club program who we were sent info on update the Extra Inning Softball Signing/Verbal list, including this note on when the Florida standout 2020 outfielder/middle infielder committed at the beginning of the year:
I am excited to say that I have verbally committed to the University of Alabama to continue my academic and softball career. I want to thank everyone who has helped me become the player I am today. I am so thankful for the chance to wear the script "A" across my chest!
