Last week, we had a chance to watch McKenzie “Pie” Clark of the Tampa Mustangs-TJ team as she helped the 18U team tie for 3rd at PGF Nationals, despite T.J. Goelz’s squad being age eligible to play 16U!
Clark was amazing as she hit .425 with a 1.53 OPS and had two home runs and seven RBIs, but what had coaches talking was her defensive play in centerfield as she made two outfield assists and a game-saving grab over the portable fence that prevented a three-run homer.
