Breaking News: Standout Club Head Coach Kevin Maguire Hired as South Carolina Gamecock Assistant

Kevin Maguire, seen with his Lady Lightning Sluggers 16U team, has taken an assistant position with the Univ. of South Carolina.

After strong run this week finishing in the Elite 8 of the 16U Alliance Championship finishers, Lady Lightning Gold Head Coach Kevin Maguire announced to his team today that he wouldn’t be back in the fall, as he will be taking a position with the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Maguire will serve as an assistant coach for the team that his daughter Kenzi played with for the last six seasons

His 16u team also won the Fall SEFL qualifier, finished Top 15 in the Colorado Sparkler Power Pool and made the Final 8 at the 18U Atlanta Legacy Invitational.

Maguire has long been known for developing players with solid defensive skills, such as his daughter Kenzi, Florida State signees Brooke Blankenship, Krystina Hartley and Katie Bright, plus Maddie Gallagher and Giulia Desiderio, who are now waiting for their long-time club coach to join them at South Carolina.
