Next week, we start our latest edition of the Extra Elite 100 series as we’ll look at the Class of 2025 for the first time. Today, we spotlight one of the strong candidates to make the list…
Mia Galella joined PA Chaos 14U National in December, but she has yet to play a game with her new squad due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
But the extraordinary power-hitter has made an impact on her future teammates and new coach Steve Fricker because of her natural strength and agility.
“She hits the ball consistently with power and distance,” an awestruck Fricker said. “She’s able to hit it further than any other 13-year-old I’ve coached or watched.”

As if her freakish power wasn’t enough, Galella, the only 2025 on the second-year 14U squad, also has deceiving speed for her size. Despite the stay-at-home orders, the 7th-grader has been a workout machine, mixing speed and agility training with hitting, fielding and any other drill she can jam into the day.
She has also become quite creative in her training tactics, which she posts on Twitter regularly.
“My sister and I wanted to get a little creative with a workout, so we put together an obstacle course trying to incorporate multiple sports into the course, which included baseball, basketball, tennis and track,” Galella said. “We also added a jump rope and frisbee. We had so much fun with a lot of laughs!”
