Jayden Mount
Jayden Mount, Community Engagement Specialist at Extra Inning Softball, brings an extensive softball background to her role. In 2018, Jayden was named to the 2nd Team All-Sunbelt as a shortstop, and she was also honored as a 2nd Team All-South Region shortstop by the NFCA.
In 2019, Mount continued to excel, earning a spot on the Sunbelt All-Tournament Team and receiving preseason All-Sunbelt Team honors for three consecutive years (2019, 2020, 2021). In 2021 Mount was named a 1st Team All-Sunbelt Utility Player and a 3rd Team All-South Region Utility Player by the NFCA.
Mount holds the distinction of being ranked 1st in program history for the single-season on-base percentage with an impressive .561 OBP. She also tied for 1st in program history for the single-season hit by pitch record with 25 HBP.
Mount served as the Assistant Softball Coach at the University of South Alabama from August 2022 until May 2024 when she started working with Extra Inning Softball.
Jayden’s academic achievements are equally impressive. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management with a minor in Psychology from the University of Louisiana Monroe in May 2020. She then went on to obtain her Master’s Degree in Exercise Science, with a concentration in Sport Management, from the same institution in May 2022.
Katie Lively
Katie Lively, Media and Research Advisor at Extra Inning Softball, played collegiately at Troy University in Alabama. She played five seasons at Troy and appeared in 162 games while making 119 career starts. She batted a career-high .364 in 2020 and finished the season with eight doubles, three home runs and 15 RBIs. Lively posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in four of her five seasons.
Lively was named First Team All-Sun Belt Conference in 2021 as she batted .303 with 11 doubles, seven home runs and a career-best 37 RBIs. Led by Lively, Troy posted a 37-17 record and advanced to the Tuscaloosa Regional of the NCAA Tournament, which marked the second all-time appearance for the Trojans in the tournament.
Lively graduated from Troy University in 2023 with a master’s degree in strategic communications.
Laina Holmgren
Laina Holmgren, Rankings and Media Coordinator helps guide the Extra Elite 100 rankings and supports editorial coverage. Her role also includes serving as a liaison with the Rankings Committee, ensuring communication flows smoothly and the process remains organized and efficient.
Laina brings a strong softball background, having played collegiately at Boise State University and Charleston Southern University before coaching at George Washington University, the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and the College of Charleston. Her combined player and coaching experience gives her a unique perspective on evaluating talent and celebrating athletes at every level of the game.
A Southern California native, Laina now lives in Charleston, SC, where she is surrounded by family and supported by her fiancé, Seth Frasier. She is passionate about the people who make softball special and is committed to helping Extra Inning Softball continue growing as the sport’s leading hub for rankings, coverage, and community.
Skyler Ball
Skyler Ball, Digital Content Creator for Extra Inning Softball, brings a strong blend of Division I softball experience, advanced communications education, and professional media expertise to the team.
A former collegiate athlete at Southern Utah University, she competed at the highest level while earning both her bachelor’s degree in Communication with an emphasis in Media Studies and a master’s degree in Professional Communication.
Skyler’s background includes extensive work in sports marketing, digital content creation, and live-event production, with experience spanning collegiate athletics, professional softball, and national sports organizations.
Ball also coaches travel softball, giving her a development-focused perspective on athlete storytelling and coverage. In addition to her professional roles, Skyler is a proud mom to her 16-month-old daughter, Kenley, a role that further reinforces her appreciation for responsible storytelling and family-centered coverage within the softball community.
Sara Vanderford
Sara Vanderford, Digital Content Creator for Extra Inning Softball, is a former professional softball player who brings high-level competitive experience, broadcast credibility, and operational expertise to our team.
Sara has served as a softball color commentator for ESPN+, delivering in-depth analysis and athlete-focused storytelling for NCAA broadcasts.
In addition to her media background, Vanderford works within the Texas State University Athletics Department, where she supports business operations, travel coordination, and internal communications across multiple programs.
A graduate of Texas State with both a bachelor’s degree in management and an MBA, she combines strategic thinking with authentic storytelling.
At Extra Inning Softball, Vanderford contributes to digital content creation with a strong understanding of the athlete journey, the demands of elite competition, and the responsibility of representing the sport with accuracy and integrity.
Mary Jane Butt
Mary Jane Butt serves as an Administrative Assistant at Extra Inning Softball and is a valued contributor to the organization’s day-to-day success. She supports the team through detailed research, the collection and organization of critical information, and assistance with internal operations that keep the company running efficiently. Her behind-the-scenes work plays an important role in maintaining accuracy, structure, and consistency across our platform.
Johna Santiago
Johna Santiago serves as a Customer Service Representative at Extra Inning Softball and is a key point of contact for our community. She supports members and families by responding to inquiries, providing account assistance, and ensuring a positive experience across our platform. In addition to customer service responsibilities, Johna assists with research tasks and information gathering that support our rankings, content, and internal operations.
