
News out of Westood today showed us that, as much as we hope, the COVID-19 pandemic is not behind us yet.
UCLA softball had to cancel it’s four-game series with Cal this weekend as the Bruins initially had three positives come back this morning and the scheduled bus ride to Berkeley, California set to depart for 10 am PST got pushed to noon and ultimately cancelled because of too many positive tests.
Several sources close to the Pac-12 program in So Cal told us that the Bruins are under shutdown COVID protocol and players were sent back to their dorm rooms to wait until Sunday and further updates.
One person indicated that the players who tested positive initially were asymptomatic and were surprised they have the Coronavirus.
UCLA players can’t practice or do anything until more is learned including if the Cal series will be rescheduled.
