Through the first two days of the regional round last season, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish were the best team in Lexington, Kentucky. The Irish ultimately came up just shy of advancing to the Super Regionals, finishing one win away from moving forward in the postseason.
Last season was the first time that Notre Dame had fifth-year seniors on their roster – not a normal occurrence for the program, the move was prompted by the NCAA’s extended eligibility waiver. In 2022, the Irish will see another ‘super senior’ class take the field in South Bend and oh, how Sweet it is.
