TEAM RANKINGS FAQ
Why Regional and National Rankings?
EIS recognizes those teams who are successful in their region but may not play on a national schedule. Additionally, each region has varying levels of play, and it is more comparable to rank teams within their own regions.
What are the Considerations for Regional Team Rankings?
Regional rankings are based on how teams compare to other teams within their region, feedback from the Rankings Committee who obtains recommendations, analysis and input from former college coaches, trainers, tournament directors, UIC’s, high school coaches, and other experts in the game of softball. They analyze the body of work of the team, H2H matchups, matchups against the same opponent, elite players each team has, and wins & losses. If you elect to play on a national schedule those results are factored into our national rankings.
Who is On the Extra Inning Softball Rankings Committee?
Members of our rankings committee will remain confidential so as to protect the integrity of the process. Our rankings committee is composed of individuals with a deep understanding of the sport, including former legendary coaches, former iconic players, analysts, and other experts in the Fastpitch softball community.
Are the Same Individuals Who are on the Regional Committee also on the National Committee?
We have determined the best way to have accurate rankings is to have multiple committee members from each region. All committee members have experience with regional and national level of club play and understand the importance of both and the differences that are considered for regional vs. national rankings.
What If I Disagree with the Rankings or Think a Team Has Been Overlooked?
We welcome your feedback, but there will not be changes to the rankings once they have been posted. If there is an error with the team’s name or where they are from, please email us at: info@extrainnningsoftball.com
If you feel your team has beaten teams ranked higher than your player’s team, please understand that there are multiple factors that are considered.
