“She’s a stud.”
That’s the simple description Head Coach Steve Walling of Athletics – Mercado/Walling 07 gave us when talking about his prize pitcher, Chloe Solis, who is considered one of the top prospects in the Class of 2026.

As Extra Inning dives deeper into the 2026 Extra Elite 100 this week, you can count on Chloe being ranked pretty high (or low, however you want to look at it!) in the final ratings.
Young though she may be, Chloe is already showing the physical and mental tools to be an elite pitcher not just now but in the long run.
“Chloe is one of the best 2026-2008 pitchers I’ve seen,” adds her coach. “She has wins over several of the top teams in the country and always gets the ball versus the best teams.”
Sometimes that means she’s handed the ball at one o’clock in the morning!
That’s what happened last February when the A’s made it to the championship game of the PGF Coastal Cup last February (2020) in Salinas, California.
Chloe took the ball and led her team to a victory for a game that didn’t get done until 2 am after she pitched a complete game 6-5 win over California Grapettes 12U. In the win, she struck out seven while giving up three earned runs and a pair of walks.
She counts that as one of her favorite, and most memorable, softball experiences.
“My teammates and I were all exhausted from the long day,” she recalls, “but we walked away with the win!

Coaching Comments: “Chloe is the ace pitcher on the 18th ranked Athletics Mercado Walling 07 team. Her fastball and rise have been clocked in the 59-62 mph range and she has a nasty curve to go along with her knee-buckling change. In addition to her elite velocity and movement, Chloe has pinpoint control walking only 17 in 127.2 innings. She has faced and beat several of the top teams in the country while leading AM Walling’s pitching staff.

What would you say are your strengths on the field?
My velocity and movement on the ball when I’m pitching and once I get into my rhythm, I have to ability to control the game.
What is your mindset if you have two outs, full count and bases loaded are ready for the payoff pitch?
Take a deep breath, tell myself to relax, hit my spot, trust my defense and get the out.
