Despite dropping their first game of the season this weekend, Oklahoma maintains their season-long position as the top-ranked team in the Extra Inning Softball Top 25 poll following Week 10 action.
Alabama returns to the #2 overall spot after a weekend sweep of Mississippi State that included a pair of late-inning scares and come-from-behind, walk-off wins. Virginia Tech falls to #3 after dropping the middle game of their rivalry series against Virginia. The remainder of the top 10 remains unchanged.
Following a series sweep over Texas A&M, Tennessee jumps three spots to #12 in this week’s poll. Washington also made their biggest jump in several weeks, moving to #19 after a weekend sweep over Oregon State.
New to this week’s poll is Nebraska; the Big 10-leading Cornhuskers make their first appearance of the year in the top 25 after moving to a perfect 13-0 in conference play and 33-9 overall on the season. The Huskers are riding an 18-game winning streak.
The SEC leads all leagues with a total of eight teams in the Week 10 Top 25 poll, while both the PAC-12 and ACC check in with five representative teams each. The Big 12 and Big 10 each boast three programs in the rankings, while the American checks in with one team in the Top 25.
