Extra Inning Softball Top 25: Oklahoma Retakes the Top Spot

There’s a new #1 back atop the Extra Inning Softball Top 25 poll.

Following a one-week interlude, Oklahoma is back atop the rankings after an utter walloping of then-#1 UCLA in a run-rule win at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.

With the OU defeat their first loss of the season, UCLA checks in still at #2 while Oklahoma State holds firm at #3. Tennessee – following a shutout win over Clemson – and Stanford round out the top five.

Three teams – Florida State, Duke, and Baylor – shared the largest rises in the Week 3 poll, each moving up four spots respectively. The biggest drops in the rankings were felt by Alabama, who fell five spots after being dominated in a loss to Kennesaw State, and Florida, who fell eleven spots after three losses and only a win over UC Riverside at the Mary Nutter tournament.

Four teams joined the poll this week after previously being unranked – that group included #18 Oregon, #23 Louisiana, #24 Wichita State, and #25 Louisville.
