While the softball world was marveling at the tremendous pitching, the amazing defense, the prolific home run power and, certainly, the team-wide contributions of the Florida State softball team in its run through the Women’s College World Series, we got to wondering: what are the future Seminole players (committed recruits) thinking as they watch the program they love take home a National Championship?
One thing’s for sure: in the era of texting and social media, recruits who meet each other at camps or campus visits or cross paths playing with or against each other at showcases and national tournaments definitely keep in touch and, not surprisingly, many of the FSU verbals were excitedly communicating back and forth about Lonni Alameda’s team as it played loose, fun and inspired softball over the last week.
Extra Inning Softball got in contact with a nice cross-sampling of the talent Coach Alameda and assistants Travis Wilson and Craig Snider are bringing and below are comments from 10 future Seminoles covering the classes of 2019, ’20, ’21 and ’22 about what they thought as they watched—and happily communicated with each other—throughout the amazing run by the Noles in the WCWS…
