
Heading into last Saturday’s high school championship showdown in San Diego between two of the top teams in the nation in Cathedral Catholic and San Marcos, it not only matched two of the best senior pitchers in Cathedral’s Megan Faraimo—ranked the #1 overall player in the Extra Inning Softball Elite 100 for the 2018 Class and a UCLA signee and San Marcos’s Payton Tidd, #17 overall and Notre Dame-bound—it also meant that whichever team won would be crowned as the #1 overall high school team in California at the end of the year.
