Michelle DePolo is out as the head coach at Tennessee Tech, sources confirmed to Extra Inning Softball on Friday.

DePolo spent three seasons as the Golden Eagles’ leader, posting an even 61-61 record during her tenure with a 26-34 showing against Ohio Valley conference opponents.

Under DePolo’s guidance, the Golden Eagles were 32-22 overall during the 2022 season. At one point during the year, the team had an 8-game winning streak and reached the OVC tournament, where they went 1-2 before being eliminated.

Prior to Tennessee Tech, DePolo spent nine years as the head coach at Army and totaled eleven years in total at West Point, including two seasons as an assistant coach. Her coaching resume also includes stints on staff at Smith College and Amherst College.

In addition to her coaching resume, DePolo spent five years as a member of the NCAA Softball Committee, the group that is tasked with choosing the NCAA tournament field and putting on the Women’s College World Series each year.
