Today—Sunday, May 9th, 2021—is Mother’s Day and we offered softball players the opportunity to express their love and appreciation for their moms or mother figures (such as a step-mom, grandmother, sister, teacher, coach or someone else).
“Tell us why your mom is a rock star,” we said, and here are some of the great responses we got from across the nation!

My mother is a rock star because she is my #1 supporter on and off the field. She is there for me whenever I need her. But most of all she gives the best hugs. I love you mommy.

My mother is a rock star because of all the hard work she does behind the scenes for me, my father (and coach), and especially my travel team so I want to thank her for working 24/7 for our team no matter the circumstances. She always loves and cares for anybody she meets and puts others ahead of herself, doing what is best for them, leaving a positive, and long-lasting effect on every single person she meets. My mom is the epitome of a faithful Christian in her walk with the Lord. As Christians, we all make mistakes, but she realizes and takes the time to run back to the feet of Jesus Christ. She keeps me accountable in my walk with the Lord, making sure I am spending my quality time with Him when it matters most, especially in softball when you can forget to thank God for the amazing gifts, He has given to you. My mom is somebody I wish to model my life after forever!

I would like to wish my mother a very extra special Mother’s Day. She is awesome in so many ways and always there when I need her the most, during the best and especially the hard times. She is the one who will sit there and listen to me talk and talk and talk about anything and she will always stop what she is doing to listen. If I need help or if I have a question about something, I know I can depend on her. She keeps our house running, cooks’ dinners, and makes sure the laundry is done. She puts herself third to the rest of us in the family. It may seem we take things for granted, but Mom you are seriously the best mom a kid could ask for.
