Tell us about your travel team/organization and how you became involved with them?
PA Chaos is a powerful travel organization out of Garnet Valley, PA. They play against some of the top teams in the country. One day I was looking for a team where I would be challenged and when I was looking my parents and I first thought of PA Chaos. This organization has always had teams who were strong and played well thorough every age group. I knew that if I wanted to get to the next level, I had to play for them. The Chaos has been challenging me to be a better player in all aspects of the game and being able to play for the 18U Gold team is making me even better, knowing that so have to work 10 times as hard if I want to do good competing at high level 18U competition.

Can you talk about your experience at softball camps this winter?
Which camps did you go to and which ones are you still planning to go to? Although I am done with all my camps for this winter, I am very happy with the camps I have attended. I went to The University of Florida, the University of Oklahoma and the University of Georgia. At these camps, I have not only learned new things, but met lots of great players, who I have played before and gotten promising feedback from all of the coaches.

What kind of comments have you heard?
I heard comments on my spin pitches, like my curve and my change-up. Multiple college coaches told me that my change-up was nasty, especially when I throw it after my fastball, which I was really happy to hear. I have never thrown an amazing change-up until I recently changed my grip and it seems to work much better for me. I have also heard from coaches that they like how much ground force and power that I create in my swing, which shows how well all my lifting is paying off.

What have you learned or what have you added to your training?
I have learned a lot of great tips and drills to add to my training, especially the smaller details that make the biggest difference. One of the drills I learned at the University of Florida Camp was that when you are practicing your rise spin, take the thumb off the ball and spin the ball with your other four fingers. This will show you if you are getting a true backspin or not. If you are now, keep doing the drill until you can get the backspin consistently. Another small tip I learned was when I am hitting, I should stay loose before my swing. I will also start to be including more drills for leg drive into my pitch, because it seems every coach I have met so far has really emphasized how important it is for a pitcher.

What should we expect from your HS team this spring and from your club team this summer?
From my high school team, this spring I think we can expect a lot of wins and maybe even a state title. We have a couple stud players this year with us like Maddison Clark (of PA Chaos) and Gracie Granate (of Stars National). I also think that with the help of our new head coach, we could be in the running for a state title.

Do you have a secret talent/skill?
Not many people would believe it, but I am actually a really good baker. I am almost like my family’s designated baker. I make everything from scratch, which makes it even more special.

What’s your most memorable softball story?
One of my most memorable memorable moments was in 10U when I got hit in the face with a line drive (I did have a face mask on). Everyone was really shocked and the coaches started to rush over to check if I was OK. I stood up and picked my face mask up and just started to laugh. Everyone was confused because they thought I was seriously hurt, but it really didn’t faze me at all. After that, I continued to pitch the rest of the game and I was perfectly fine.
