What an amazing career Amanda Lorenz has had… and she’s not done yet!
Pre-college, the talented outfielder would lead her OC Batbusters travel team to a PGF Nationals championship and then shine at the next level for the Floria Gators where she was an All-American and rewrote the SEC school’s record book.
Amanda would go on to play for Team USA and, as a pro player, was the #2 overall pick in the NFP Draft in 2019. Today, she’s still playing, competing this summer in the Athletes Unlimited league (click HERE to see her on the roster for Team Romero in recent games).
Coming up to 10 years now–in January of 2014 at a Surf City Showcase tournament–I told Amanda that she’d be the #1 player in the Class of 2015 in the Student Sports Hot 100 rankings, which was the predecessor of today’s Extra Elite 100.
You can see that video below… Amanda also blogged for me when she was in high school and below you can read what she wrote on January 13, 2014 about being named the No. 1 player in the Class of 2015.
That 2015 class was loaded with talent and the Top 10 included: #1 Amanda; #2 Kelly Barnhill, #3 Sydney Romero, #4 Shay Knighten, #5 Taylor McQuillin, #6 Taryn Alvelo, #8 Alyssa Pal0mino, #9 Kenzi Maguire and #10 Rachel Garcia.
Quite an impressive group Amanda headed and isn’t it interesting that, almost a decade later, she’s playing on the same Athletes Unlimited team as Sydney Romero, ranked #3 in this class!

First of all I just wanted to say how honored I am to have been recognized as number one.
The girls in my class are unbelievably talented and I am just thankful to be in the same category as them. It’s a great feeling to know my hard work is paying off, but I will never stop working hard!
