I. Conference Breakdown
There are seven softball programs that play in the SoCon. Those programs include Chattanooga, East Tennessee State, Furman, Mercer, Samford, UNC Greensboro, and Western Carolina.
Wofford has announced plans to form a softball program and are currently constructing a facility; the program is expected to begin play in 2024.
Last season, UNC Greensboro won both the regular-season and conference tournament titles. After posting a 14-4 record in SoCon play during the regular season, the Spartans went a perfect 3-0 in the conference tournament to win the championship trophy and represent the league in the NCAA tournament.
