It’s been a wild year for Conference USA. The conference realignment happenings that have occurred all fall have diverted the attention, even in softball circles, from the coaching moves that took place during the summer.
Let’s bring some of that attention back to the diamond and the coaches boxes. As a reminder, there are currently twelve softball programs in Conference USA; they include Charlotte, FAU, FIU, Louisiana Tech, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, North Texas, Southern Miss, UAB, UTEP, UTSA, and Western Kentucky.
Two C-USA softball programs changed hands at the head coaching position this summer. Louisiana Tech hired their third head coach in as many years, while FIU is now on their third head coach in just four years.
