
Iowa has hired Brian Levin as an assistant coach.
Levin most recently spent three seasons as the head coach at Southern Miss. Levin spent three seasons as the Golden Eagles’ head coach, collecting a 65-62 overall record. During the 2022 season, USM finished with a 29-23 overall record and a 9-15 showing in Conference USA play.
Prior to his tenure at Southern Miss, Levin was the head coach at Belmont and Missouri-St. Louis. He boasts a career record of 405-215 career record, and also spent a three-year tenure as the head coach of the Akron Racers in the now-defunct National Pro Fastpitch league.
Levin spent two decades in the military, including fifteen years at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where he organized and trained combat forced. He began his softball coaching career while at Fort Campbell, volunteering at Fort Campbell High School in a variety of sports.
