Memphis has hired Caroline Hardy as an assistant coach.
Hardy spent the 2023 season on staff at UC Santa Barbara, serving as the Gauchos’ hitting coach. Under her guidance, the Gauchos batted .292 as a team, hitting just nine home runs but scoring 216 runs and posting a team on-base percentage of .383.
In Hardy’s sole season, the Gauchos led the Big West Conference in five statistical categories, including batting average, hits, and walks earned.
Prior to UCSB, Hardy spent two years on staff at Division II Young Harris College. Her coaching resume also includes a single season as volunteer assistant at Georgia Tech.
As a player at Alabama, Hardy was part of a pair of Women’s College World Series-appearing Crimson Tide squads and helped lead the Tide to an SEC regular-season title in 2019. Memphis head coach Stephanie VanBrakle Prothro was the pitching coach at Alabama during Hardy’s playing career in Tuscaloosa.
