Lipscomb has hired Carrie Eberle as the program’s new pitching coach.
Eberle spent the 2022 season as a graduate assistant on staff at Oklahoma State and was part of the support staff for the program that made its third consecutive trip to the Women’s College World Series.
During her playing career, Eberle played three years at Virginia Tech and earned the 2019 ACC Pitcher of the Year award before transferring to Oklahoma State following her junior season. Eberle spent two years in Stillwater, including utilizing her ‘super senior’ season in 2021.
In her two years at Oklahoma State, Eberle was the Big 12 Pitcher of the Year and an All-American in 2021. She went on to pitch both the 2021 and ’22 summer seasons for Athletes Unlimited and was the league’s Rookie of the Year in 2021.
Head coach Kristin Ryman, in a statement, said, “We are so excited to welcome Carrie to the Lipscomb family! We truly believe she is ready to step into the coaching side of the game and will prove to be a great young mind in this sport. She’ll bring not only a passion for the game and for teaching pitching, but also an intelligent approach to strategy. she has learned from some of the best coaches in the country and she knows what it takes to win at the highest level.”
The Lipscomb program ended the 2022 season with a 20-32 overall record and a 10-14 conference mark. The Bisons’ pitching staff finished the year with a 4.92 staff ERA, 201 strikeouts, and a cumulative opponent’s batting average of .300.
