Chloe Evans, Emily Leavitt Transferring From Minnesota

Freshman pitcher Emily Leavitt and all-Region selection Chloe Evans are both leaving Minnesota.

Both players entered their names into the NCAA’s transfer portal on Tuesday, sources confirmed to Extra Inning Softball.

On Twitter early Tuesday morning, Leavitt confirmed her plans to transfer, writing:

“I’d like to announce that I am entering the transfer portal. Thank you to the University of Minnesota for the experience and life lessons I’ve learned along the way as well as the great people I’ve met here. Excited for this new journey!”

As a true freshman this season, Leavitt recorded a 4.70 ERA with 15 wins, 135 strikeouts, and a .314 opponent’s batting average.

Evans, a true sophomore, earned nominations to the all-Big 10 second team and the all-Region third team this season, a year when she recorded 44 RBIs, scored 32 runs, and led the team with eleven doubles. She notched a .329 batting average on the year.

A spot starter as a freshman in 2021, Evans batted just .158 in her rookie season with thirteen runs scored.
