Club News: Championship Coaches Michael Danley & Josh Fisher Merge to Create Mojo Super Team

Outfielder Ana Roman–ranked #2 in the 2025 Extra Elite 100–is one of five players on the newly-formed Tennessee Mojo – Danley/Fisher team that are ranked in the Top 10 of the Extra Elite 100 for their class.

Earlier this week, two highly successful club coaches, Michael Danley and Josh Fisher, announced that they were teaming up to create a talent-filled team with a core of 10 standout 2023 (incoming senior) players, a trio of 2024’s and one bluechip 2025.

How strong will this new team be?

  • All 14 of the players are ranked in the Extra Elite 100 for their respective classes.
  • 13 of the 14 are ranked in the Top 50 of their class.
  • 9 of the 14 are ranked in the Top 25 of their class.
  • 5 of the 14 are ranked in the Top 10 of their class, including two players who are at #2.

“We are excited to announce that Tennessee Mojo Danley and Tennessee Mojo Fisher has joined forces,” Coach Danley told Extra Inning Softball. “We have thought about this a few times in the last couple years, but it never was a good time. After PGF (Nationals) this year, Ramsey Harkness [editor’s note: another highly esteemed coach and event director in the Mojo organization] and I were talking and it just kinda clicked.”

One key reason for the merger, Danley explains, was planning the future for his underclass athletes.

“I need to have a place for my 2024 and 2025 kids a place to play after next year,” the coach continues. Once this next year is done, I will take a break from coaching and enjoy watching my kid play in college (Ashtyn Danley, a 2023 pitcher committed to Florida State who is ranked #7 in the 2023 Extra Elite 100) and I wanted to leave something for the kids and families that would be looking for a place.”

When Coach Danley is playing “Dad” and rooting for his daughter at FSU next year and beyond, this Mojo team will roll on knowing who will be the future coaches.

“Josh had two remaining players for this year and I had the majority of a team returning,” Danley says. “It was a perfect match and I couldn’t be happier to leave my girls with great coaches in Josh Fisher and Ramsey Harkness.”

“They do this for the right reasons and have proven over the years to some of the best in the business.  It’s going to give the girls coming up through Mojo to have a college type atmosphere with coaches that know the game.  They will continue to have some of the best talent in the country to play for them and it will get them ready for college.”

Ashtyn Danley, like several on the team, has won a national title.

Coach Harkness echoed Danley’s point that character is a key aspect they considered when assembling the team.

“Fish and I surround ourselves with good people in the game,” Harkness explained. “That’s what Michael has done in building this team over the years, too.”

Coach Fisher believes the core of the team will be at 18U and compete successfully for years to come.

“I am really looking forward to continuing in the Tennessee Mojo organization,” the coach begins. “A big thanks to Brooks Cherry and Coach Michael Danley for their belief in both me and CoachHarkness. The Tennessee Mojo organization shares the same vision as I do, and that is to put the kids first, always and to not lose sight of why we do this. We feel like we have one of the best teams in the country and look forward to seeing these talented youngsters play this Fall.”

“Our team has a mixture of power, speed, excellent defenders and stud dog pitchers!” Fisher laughs. “We are also excited to be continuing with the Tennessee Mojo beyond next Summer, as Coach Harkness and I will remain in the 18u Division, for many years to come. We feel like the Tennessee Mojo has some of the best talent in the country and it is continuing to only get better. So jump on board now! Our plans are to continue to compete at the highest of levels and to place ALL of the players at Schools which fit who they are and provide all of the necessities she will need to succeed. We feel fortunate to bring years of success on the field together and make it a reality.”
