Memphis has hired DJ Sanders as an assistant coach.
Sanders spent the 2022 collegiate season on staff at Mississippi State. Serving as the volunteer assistant coach, she was part of the group that guided the Bulldogs to victory in the Tallahassee regional and a berth in the Super Regional round.
Previously, Sanders spent a tenure as a graduate assistant at Missouri.
In addition to her coaching ventures, Sanders spent the summer playing professionally for Athletes Unlimited. In addition to her three years suiting up for AU in Rosemont, Sanders also spent two seasons playing in the now-defunct National Pro Fastpitch league for the Chicago Bandits.
During her collegiate playing career, Sanders was the 2017 Sun Belt Player of the Year and an All-American at Louisiana-Lafayette before transferring to Oregon to finish her career. She earned all-PAC 12 and all-region honors in her sole season with the Ducks.
