Kylei Russell, a 2024 centerfielder and shortstop for Southern Force, committed to the University of North Alabama on Jan. 17, 2024.
Russell said that the Lord and her faith have played a huge role in getting her to where she is today, and she is also extremely thankful for those around her that have supported her in her journey.
“Faith has been a big part of my story, every time I reflect on my accomplishments, I never fail to see that God had his hand involved,” Russell said. “I wouldn’t be the person or athlete I am today without God. Sports, family, and friends are what comes to mind when I think of what matters to me. I value quality time with people that I love and enjoy making memories in any way shape or form. My life basically revolves around sports.”
Russell has been on her varsity softball team for six years, earning All-Area and All-County awards and being named Speaking Captain of her volleyball team. Academically, she works with the student council, National Honor Society, and FFCCLA. She also serves at her church and in the Christian Students United Club at her school and is part of the Senior Sisters in Christ.
