Indiana IF Taryn Kern has entered the transfer portal, sources confirmed to Extra Inning Softball.
Kern, a freshman during the 2023 season, batted .404 in her rookie campaign. Her statistics included 23 home runs, 13 doubles, 68 RBIs, and 68 runs scored. She posted a 1.520 OPS.
Following the season, Kern was a top-3 finalist for NFCA National Freshman of the Year; earned both the Big Ten Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year awards; and was named a Second Team All-American.
A native of San Jose, California, Kern played travel ball for Warrior Academy in California.
