Bowling Green pitcher Payton Gottshall is transferring to Tennessee, she announced on social media on Tuesday.
“Catch me pitching on Good Ol’ Rocky Top the next two seasons!!” Gottshall wrote, adding the hashtag “GoVols”.
Gottshall was named the 2022 MAC Pitcher of the Year, also earning all-conference and all-region honors along the way. She posted a 27-13 win-loss record with a 1.63 ERA and 374 strikeouts on the year.
For her career at Bowling Green, Gottshall notched a 1.77 ERA with 58 wins, 784 strikeouts, and an opponent’s batting average of .177. Her strikeout/walk ratio of 5/1.
A Massillon, Ohio native, Gottshall has two years of eligibility remaining.
