The Terrific Ten has you covered on all the best highlights from all the action across college softball on Thursday!

*****

1. Houston Christian pitcher Katy Janes put together the finest performance of her career on Thursday, throwing her first collegiate no-hitter to open a doubleheader against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Janes threw a gem in the circle, keeping the Islanders out of the hit column and striking out five along the way, en route to a 1-0 win. The Huskies swept the doubleheader, winning the second game 4-3 over their in-state foes.

2. Ivy League member Cornell picked up their fifth win of the year in impressive fashion on Thursday, beating Penn State to open their tournament stay in Happy Valley. After suffering a 3-0 deficit early in the game, the Big Red scored four unanswered runs to take the 4-3 victory. It was the first win over a Power Five opponent for Cornell since 2013.

3. UC San Diego started Big West conference play in style, sweeping a doubleheader over Cal State Bakersfield. The Tritons recorded a 3-0 shutout win to open the day, then finished off the day with an 8-1 final score in game two. Gabby Williams was solid in the circle in the opener, allowing just three hits with four strikeouts to her credit. Jada Cecil took the circle in the nightcap, polishing off her fifth complete game of the season and allowing just three hits while notching eight strikeouts.

4. Pacific thrived on multi-run innings in a doubleheader sweep of Dartmouth on Thursday, outscoring their foes 10-2 in the pair of games to record two wins. In the day’s opener, Pacific scored in four of the first five innings and got two solo home runs in the affair to put away the Big Green. Vanessa Strong was solid in the circle, allowing four hits and striking out eight in six innings of work. In the second game, Rian Dirmeyer’s two-run home run in the fourth inning proved to be the difference in the 3-1 final score.

5. Liberty finished off a three-game sweep of Eastern Kentucky, winning both games of a doubleheader to close out their first conference series of the year and move to 3-0 in ASun play. The Flames recorded a 9-1 run-rule win to open the doubleheader, then finished the day with a 5-0 shutout victory. The Flames outscored their foes 21-4 in the series. Paige Bachman threw a complete game for Liberty in the day’s opener, while Karlie Keeney threw a four-hit shutout in the nightcap to move the Flames’ winning streak to 15 consecutive games.
