
Peejay Brun’s departure as the UT-Arlington head coach was somewhat unexpected; the Mavs did not have a good season, but a few years removed from a postseason tournament victory and moving into a new league, Brun didn’t seem like a prime candidate for firing.
The Mavs are headed into the WAC, effective July 1, and will compete against a whole new crop of teams, many of them West coast-based.
