Stefania Abruscato, ranked in the Top 25 of the 2023 Class Extra Elite 100 rankings, is at PGF Nationals this week and was doing great as an assistant coach until she was “forced” to stop coaching for an odd reason.

The incoming senior from Hauppauge (N.Y.), who is headed to the SEC, talks about that and also about a knee injury suffered in volleyball that she’s getting taken care of via surgery (fortunately, it’s not too serious… knock on wood!).
We had her on our 2022 Extra Inning Softball 1st Team High School All-American (Catcher) list this summer after “Fania” batted .667 batting average (30-for-45) with eight home runs, 35 RBIs and a strong .805 on-base percentage in 18 games and also impressed by stealing 34 bases and scoring 32 runs.
She’s also been a four-time New York All-Stater as a starting catcher for her high school since the 7th grade!
