Raelin Chaffin is one of the members of the U-18 Jr. National Team that was announced on Friday, June 25, 2021 and we talked her shortly after she learned she made the team!

Last Friday, June 25, 2021, the 16 members of the USA Softball U-18 Junior Women’s National Team (JWNT) was announced after a two-day selection trial process held at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex in Oklahoma City, Okla.

The team will compete at the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-18 World Cup in Lima, Peru from August 28 – September 5 and the Junior Pan American Games in Barranquilla, Columbia from November 25 – December 5.

One of the pitchers for the U.S. squad will be Raelin Chaffin, a 2021 grad who was a two-time Louisiana Class 5A All-State 1st Team pitcher for Airline (Bossier City, La.) High. She helped lead the team to the state title game and would go 17-1 on the year with 206 K’s in 99.2 innings and a 1.05 ERA. Raelin also smacked six home runs and had 19 RBIs on the high school season.

The LSU grad was at the Top Club National Championship competing for Scott Smith’s Texas Bombers 18U Gold team after finishing the USA Softball team tryouts when we caught up with her shortly after she found out she made the team.
