PGF Nationals has been the top event in club softball for over the last decade and almost every elite college player playing today has come through the event at one point or another.
The expansive competition has been held each summer in Orange County, California (except the COVID-impacted 2020 year) since it began in 2010 and is back on track to be played this July and August–even in what, up until now, has been the pretty restricted state of California.
Still, rumors persist of travel restrictions, vaccination mandates and more that could impact players, coaches and families wanting to attend so I took the opportunity to sit down and meet with PGF President & CEO Dan Hay to talk about the past year and how this 2021 campaign is playing out.
Here’s what Dan had to say (and stay tuned for a more detailed statement to come out next week from PGF)…
