An eighth-place finish in the ACC doesn’t necessarily look great on paper, but Louisville’s 2022 season had its high points. A four-game winning streak to open the year, a win over Arkansas during a 3-game series in Fayetteville, and non-conference wins over Illinois and Indiana highlighted the Cardinals’ slate.
The Cardinals finished the regular season 47th in the RPI rankings, firmly in a bubble position for consideration to earn an NCAA tournament at-large berth. On Selection Sunday, though, they were left on the outside looking in, one of the first few teams left out of the field of 64.
Graduated talent leave big shoes to fill, and the Cardinals boast a young roster entering the 2023 campaign.
