
Five years ago, in 2018, South Carolina hosted an NCAA tournament regional and fought their way into the Super Regional round of the postseason. They were unimaginable heights, a culmination of talent gone so totally right.
Entering the 2023 season, completely different fortunes have arrived for the team from Columbia. In each of the last two seasons, only one SEC team has been left on the outside of the NCAA tournament. Both times that team was the Gamecocks.
This summer contained a lot of action, including a coaching staff change and an influx of new talent including several transfers. Perhaps fortunes could be changing.
