BANDITS-TRACKWELL LOOK SOLID IN GEORGIA

Beverly Bandits-Trackwell, #6 in the Extra Elite Eighty 12U Club Rankings, won the 12U title at the Top Gun Invitational in Kansas City two weeks ago and it was undefeated and looking strong before rain cut short the PGF Georgia A State Championship in Dalton, GA, this past weekend.

The 30-team field at the PGF Georgia A State Championship featured six of the top-30 teams in the Extra Elite Eighty 12U Club Rankings.

The Bandits defeated Atlanta Premier Gold-Stewart, 5-0, GA Batbusters 07-Hester/Stanford, 8-2, and Pro Stars Fastpitch, 8-0, in pool play. Then they knocked off #25 Tennessee Mojo 07-Spinogatti, 8-0, and TN Fury, 4-1, in bracket play. The Bandits had a 1-0 lead on #8 Georgia Impact 07-Sullivan in the semifinals, but Georgia had a runner on third with two outs in the bottom of the first when the rain came.

“We have to work on executing the ‘small’ things,” Bandits coach David Trackwell said. “We had opportunities to push the door wide open and potentially get off the dirt sooner and conserve energy. I would also like to see our FLB% (Fly Ball Percentage) a lot lower as well, put the pressure on the defense to take away those hard hit ground balls and or line drives! Keep working the pitchers and having QAB (Quality At-Bats)! They are heading in the right direction. Back to work this weekend for a practice — Firecracker Showcase in Indianapolis 4th of July weekend and then we head back down to Atlanta July 10th weekend to an extremely loaded field to get prepared for PGF Nationals.”

Some of the offensive standouts for the weekend were Bella Del Real (.538 AVG, .545 OBP, 1.000 SLG, 1.538 OPS) and Ava Ratliff (.455 AVG, .500 OBP, 1.100 SLG, 1.555 OPS). The team batted .404 with a .430 OBP, .625 SLG and 1.055 OPS.

Ava Lorenzatti, who is looking like one of the top pitching prospects in the Class of 2026, struck out 30 of the 64 batters sher faced, Ratliff fanned six of the 15 batters she faced and Addison Poe K’d 11 of 21 batters sher faced. The team had a .968 fielding percentage.
