It’s finally here… it’s time to announce our next big project here at Extra Inning Softball: the Elite 50 Club Team Rankings for the 14U age division!
It’s not easy evaluating first and second year teams who play at this level, but a lot of talent is returning and several national championship teams have moved up to make a case for inclusions.
It’s been a month in the making and we’re finally ready to unveil the list which will go as follows:
- Monday, April 2: #’s 50-41
- Tuesday, April 3: #’s 40-31
- Wednesday, April 4: #’s 30-21
- Thursday, April 5: #’s 20-11
- Friday, April 6: #’s 10-1
- Saturday, April 7: #’s 51-100
Will it be one of the usual powerhouses from California like the OC Batbusters, Corona Angels, Firecrackers, So Cal Choppers, Explosion, So Cal A’s, California Breeze or A’s Mercado teams?
Or will it be one of two teams from deep organizations like the Diamond Hotshots, Beverly Bandits or Georgia Impact?
Could there be some first year teams who have the talent and potential to break through and surprise by “making the grade?” We’ll find out this week!
We’ve spoken to more than 100 coaches–both at the club and college levels–to give us their feedback and, as always, the deciding factors in the ratings will include team performances and results from the summer and fall along with the return of key players and the addition of talented new ones.
