With the launch of the 2020 Extra Elite 100 starting next Monday, we’re profiling some of the top prospects in the country and today’s focus goes to Florida to catch up with Madison Lagle, a talented pitcher who is getting major interest from multiple Power 5 programs who are showing strong interest.
Madison has the size at 6-foot-1 and physical abilities to play at a high level in college as she she has great command of the zone and throw in the low to mid 60’s. A lefty who has great “swing-and-miss” pitches, she had a strong fall with 57 K’s in 39 innings and as a freshman was 1st Team All-State.

Scouting Report: Madison is a 6-foot-1 dominating lefty pitcher with long levers which helped her field her position well. She throws a variety of speeds hitting in the low to mid-60’s and mixes her pitches well. Madison has good command and movement on all of her pitches with the ability to throw on multiple levels to keep batters off-balance. At a PGF Elite tournament she tossed 16 innings without giving up a run and had 32 K’s and allowed only one walk and one hit. Madison was a main reason her team went 106-17-6 last year. During her freshman year in Florida playing for Baker County (Glen St. Mary) High, she led the team to the Regional playoffs as she went 9-5 with 163 K’s in 94 innings and limited opposing batters to just a .169 batting average.
Coach’s Comments: “Madison is the type of pitcher every coach desires to have on their team. Since her freshman year she has been called on in big games and fulfilled her role. Her growth and development since her first time in a Wildcat jersey is something to be proud of. But the best part of having Madison on the team is the support and encouragement she is to the other pitchers and teammates when she is not throwing. She is constantly involved in the game from the dugout and encouraging her team during the game. I am excited to see her grow and develop over the next few years. — Kylee Canaday, softball coach at Baker County High
