Utah State head coach Steve Johnson announced his retirement from coaching on Friday morning.
Johnson will officially retire from the profession at the conclusion of the 2023 season.
The Aggies’ head coach for ten seasons, Johnson has won more than 200 games in Logan and is the second-winningest coach in program history.
Under his guidance, the Aggies finished 3rd in the Mountain West conference standings in 2017 and 4th in the league in 2022.
Prior to his tenure at USU, Johnson spent five years as an assistant coach at Auburn. He spent the 2003-08 as head coach at D2 UNC Pembroke and owns 351 career wins as a head coach. His resume also includes a stint as an assistant at South Dakota State.
