The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced on Monday the ten host schools for the 2023 NAIA Softball National Championship Opening Rounds.
Sites were chosen by the NAIA Softball National Championship Selection Committee and will each host four teams in the opening round of postseason play. Played in a regional-style, double-elimination format, the winner at each opening round site will advance to the NAIA Softball World Series in Columbus, Georgia.
Each of the ten schools selected to host are currently ranked in the top 15 of the latest NAIA Top 25 poll. Oklahoma and Oregon each boast two host schools, while other hosts come from Kansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Indiana, and Texas.
Per an NAIA press release, selection criteria for the host sites takes into account “geography, facilities, and host qualification.”
