First-year head coach Jeff Conrad has completed his coaching staff at North Florida, Extra Inning Softball has learned.
Assistant coaches Kelsey Sweatt and Andrew Stover have joined Conrad’s inaugural staff with the Ospreys. The full coaching staff has not been formally announced, but both assistants are listed on the team’s website.
Stover spent the 2022 season as an assistant at Ohio, a single-season tenure that followed a stint as volunteer assistant at Virginia Tech. He was part of the Ohio staff that led the Bobcats to a second-place finish in the MAC last year, and was previously part of the Virginia Tech staff that guided the Hokies to a Super Regional berth in 2021.
Sweatt completed her playing career at Division II West Florida with the 2022 season, a an award-filled tenure that also saw her place her name throughout the program record books. An All-American and the Region Pitcher of the Year in 2019, Sweatt was named to the Gulf South Conference’s All-Decade Team in 2020 and earned all-region and all-conference honors that same year. At her playing career’s end, Sweatt ranked in the top six in UWF program history in three statistical categories, including career strikeouts.
Former Osprey utility player Hayley Bejarano, who spent the 2022 season at North Florida after beginning her career at UCF, will serve as the program’s volunteer assistant coach.
The Ospreys finished the 2022 season with a 42-17 overall record and a 16-8 showing in ASun conference play.
