Ben Garcia is retiring as the head coach at Northern Colorado.

Garcia spent the last four years leading the Bears’ program, collecting a 59-111 overall record during his tenure. The Bears were 23-30 in conference play under his guidance, including a 10-8 showing against Big Sky Conference opponents this year.

During Garcia’s tenure, the Bears reached the Big Sky tournament in every year it was held, including making a run to the conference championship game in 2019. The Bears’ 23 total wins this season were the most in a single year since 2018.

Prior to his tenure at Northern Colorado, Garcia spent four years as the head coach at D2 Colorado Mesa, where he led that program to a #1 national ranking and three NCAA tournament appearances. He previously spent three years as head coach at Otero Junior College and coached at the high school level for more than two decades.
