Breaking News: 2026 Extra Elite 100 Player Rankings to Begin Jan. 11, 2021

Extra Inning Softball announced today the dates of publication for the 2026 Extra Elite 100 which will be the next installment of the prestigious Extra Elite 100 series and the first time that players in this class will be been evaluated and ranked.

The next set of rankings after 2026’s will be the updated 2025 Extra Elite 100 starting March 1, 2021 (see schedule below).

The Class of 2026 extensive coverage begins Monday, Jan. 11, 2021 and for the following three weeks will include:

• the 2026 Extra Elite 100 ranked prospects with bios and photos,
• the players ranked #’s 101-300,
• a spotlight on the top player in the class,
• position rankings (pitchers, catchers, infielders, outfielders)

The rankings are led by Brentt Eads, Extra Inning Softball’s President & Executive Editor, along with the Extra Inning Softball staff and input from more than 200 college and club scouts and coaches.

Eads, who originated the top 100 rankings lists used in softball, will now have ranked more than a decade of graduation classes (2014 to 2025).

Here is the schedule for all of the upcoming releases for the 2026 Extra Elite 100 rankings:

• Tues., Jan. 12, 2021: #’s 90-81
• Wed., Jan. 13, 2021: #’s 80-71
• Thu., Jan. 14, 2021: #’s 70-61
• Fri., Jan. 15, 2021: #’s 60-51

• Mon., Jan. 18, 2021: #’s 50-41
• Tues., Jan. 19, 2021: #’s 40-31
• Wed., Jan. 20, 2021: #’s 30-21
• Thu., Jan. 21, 2021: #’s 20-11
• Fri., Jan. 22, 2021: #’s 10-1

• Mon., Jan. 25, 2021: Extra Elite 100 #1 Player Spotlight
• Tues., Jan. 26, 2021: #’s 101-200
• Wed., Jan. 27, 2021: #’s 201-300
• Thu., Jan. 28, 2021: 2026 class position rankings

Forward the info by 5 pm EST on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021 to ensure athletes are considered before the lists are finalized.
