One of the top transfers still available in the portal has reportedly make her decision and it appears she’ll be staying instate, a college insider told Extra Inning Softball Wednesday evening.
That would mean highly-coveted Oklahoma State pitcher Kelly Maxwell is headed to the Univ. of Oklahoma to take the place of pitcher Jordy Bahl, who previously transferred to Nebraska. Maxwell entered the transfer portal about a month ago – in early July – and, not surprisingly, had many top Power 5 programs hoping to win her services.
This would make sense as Sooner Head Coach Patty Gasso tweeted the following, which is typically an indication of good news for the OU program:
GO B💣💣MER!!!!

Maxwell, a two-time All-American, was named the Big 12 Co-Pitcher of the Year in 2022 and earned 1st Team All-Big 12 and All-Region honors in three consecutive seasons from 2021-2023.
In January, Extra Inning Softball rated the lefty pitcher as the best in the country at her position… click HERE to see the list of top hurlers.
During her time in Stillwater, Maxwell compiled a 58-20 record with a 1.58 ERA and had 746 strikeouts in 494.2 innings of work. She limited opponents to a .158 batting average against and notched a strikeout/walk ratio of nearly 4/1.
A redshirt senior in 2023, Maxwell has one season of eligibility – her “super senior” year – remaining. She will be a graduate transfer, which allows her to enter the portal outside of the NCAA’s designated “window” for undergraduate transfers to enter.
