Saint Joseph’s head coach Erin Brooks has resigned her position and assistant coach Gina McCool has been promoted to the role.
In six seasons as Saint Joseph’s head coach, Brooks earned 124 wins and led the Hawks to 80 wins in A10 conference play. The Hawks won the A-10 North Division title in 2021 and made four appearances in the conference tournament.
“Erin Brooks is a tremendous softball coach and leader who cares deeply about the Saint Joseph’s softball program and her student-athletes,” Saint Joseph’s athletic director Jill Bodensteiner said in a statement. “As Erin leaves Hawk Hill to spend more time with her growing family, she can do so knowing that she made an incredibly positive impact on the St. Joe’s softball program. We wish Erin and her family the very best; they will be missed.”
McCool spent the last five seasons on the Hawks’ staff, including the last two years with the title of associate head coach. During her tenure, she has served as the program’s hitting coach.
Prior to joining the SJU staff, McCool spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Army and played college softball at Rider.
