Callee Leffler is living by the adage of announce your presence with authority.

Leffler, who will graduate in 2026, made an immediate impression on her Pine Grove Area High School team as well as her Newtown Rock Gold Garvey club team.

In her first season at Pine Grove Area she helped lead the Cardinals to a 15-7 overall record and a 10-4 record in conference play. Pine Grove Area was ranked 15th in the state of Pennsylvania in 3A.

Leffler earned 3A First Team All-State honors as well as being named first team all-county and the league rookie of the year. She batted .529 on the season with five home runs and 23 RBIs. She had a 1.157 slugging percentage and an OPS of 1.769 and struck out only once all season.

She then turned her attention to the fall where she competed for Newtown Rock Gold Garvey. She batted .446 with seven home runs and had 30 stolen bases.

Learn more about Callee Leffler:

What are your team’s top accomplishments?
Our team top accomplishments are getting an invite to the 2024 PGF 18U Premier Nationals and our team is ranked #41 in the US Club 18U rankings. It has definitely been an honor being invited to play with Newtown Rock Gold Garvey. Coach Joe Garvey and Dan Santelli reached out to me with an invite to practice with the team last winter. I was officially given an invite to join the team in the fall. Getting the opportunity to play against some of the top teams in the country has taken my love of the game to a completely new level.

What are your strengths in softball?
Hitting is one of my strengths. I work at it a lot and when I go into the box I always feel confident because of all the hard work I have done. When I get on I can run and I like to create havoc on the bases.

Do you have any softball superstitions?
I have one superstition and that is to do my hair the same way all season long. I pick a hairstyle, typically some kind of braids, in the beginning of the season, and with the help of my mom, I get it done that way for every game day!

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen happen on a softball field?
I think the funniest thing I have ever seen happened on the field is when I was playing in 10u tournament. I was in centerfield with runners on first and second base. A line drive came to me and I caught the ball on the run towards second base. I continued to run towards second base and was able to tag the bag at second and the girl on first continue to run to second so I was able to tag her out to complete the triple play.

If you could meet anyone in the softball world, who would it be?
I have met a lot of greats in the softball world but if I could meet anyone it would be Jayda Coleman of Oklahoma. She also plays the outfield like me and plays the game with a lot of passion and pride.

What is one thing you have learned from your coach that will always stay with you?
“COMPETE”- Coach Joe Garvey. Expanding on Coach Joe’s lesson, never give up, never back down, the game isn’t over till the final out is gotten. Looking back on this past fall season, there were some games in which we were behind, and because we did not give up, we were able to come back and get the win.

What is something unique about you?
I play sports left handed but I write and eat with my right.

Who is your hero and why?
A hero is someone who has done something brave, new or good, and who is therefore greatly admired by many people. There are two people who are my heroes and they are my mom and dad. They have instilled in me, through their own demonstration, a good work ethic, compassion and empathy, and leadership skills. They both work full time while raising four kids and taking care of three dogs and manage to get everyone to every game practice on time. They both always are able to make time for family and are always looking to help each of us succeed on the field, court, and classroom. I will always admire them for providing me with the extra opportunities to build my skill level and take my game to the next level.

What other activities/hobbies do you enjoy outside of softball?
During the winter I also play basketball. When not playing any sports I like to hang out with family and friends. I also enjoy gym time, getting myself faster and stronger.

If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be and why?
If I could have dinner with anyone I would have to pick Sierra Romero. We could talk about the game of softball and I can ask her how she prepared herself for the big game.

What is your favorite quote or motto?
One of my favorite quotes is “Overpower. Overtake. Overcome” – Serena Williams
