Camryn Lyman has had an award-winning career for the Long Island Sharks. After playing more than 200 games across five seasons, Lyman’s career came to an end in an elimination game at the Tuscaloosa Regional on Saturday.
Lyman was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Year in 2019 and earned all-conference honors in all four seasons of her career when they were handed out. An all-region selection in 2022, Lyman was also the NEC tournament MVP this season after batting .545 to lead her team to the championship.
Lyman ended her career second all-time in the LIU program record books in both career hits (245) and games played (224).
On Saturday, LIU head coach Roy Kortmann gave Lyman the chance to be celebrated one final time. Mid-inning in an elimination game against Central Arkansas, Kortmann pulled Lyman from the game.
The LIU fans and the crowd at Rhoads Stadium gave Lyman an ovation as she exited. WATCH the moment in the video player above.
