College Bound Jocks Athlete of the Month: Ava Bradshaw, 2024 Standout Pitcher Continues to Improve… & Win Titles

Extra Inning Softball has partnered with College Bound Jocks, a “Marketing Company for Athletes” that, for over 15 years, has succeeded in its mission to help those looking to play at the college level how to “understand, plan and succeed in the college recruiting process.”

We are happy to use our editorial platform to promote these talented athletes as part of our CBJ Athlete of the Month program and today we spotlight Ava Bradshaw, a top talent in the incoming junior class who already has quite the club and high school resume for South Lyon High in Michigan.

Ava was ranked #10 in last year’s 2024 Extra Elite 100 rankings and has also won a high school state title, been tabbed as a 1st Team All-State honoree, the Michigan Gatorade Player of the Year and a 2022 Extra Inning Softball 1st Team High School All-American Pitcher.

What are your team’s top accomplishments?
Winning a state championship my freshman year and winning our TV Power Pool game in Colorado.

Ava has been clocked in the high 60’s.

What are your top individual accomplishments?
Winning Michigan Gatorade POTY and making All-State as a freshman and sophomore.

What are your strengths in softball?
Supporting my team on and off the field, having a team first mentality, and pitching

What is your favorite softball memory?  
Winning state.

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen happen on a softball field?
The pre-inning talks with the Lady Dukes always make me laugh!

If you could meet anyone in the softball world, who would it be?
Montana Fouts.

What is one thing you have learned from your coach that will always stay with you?
It’s not about how you play or what your stats are, because the game ends eventually – it’s about the relationships you gain and the people you meet.

What is something unique about you?
I can say my ABCs backwards.

Who is your hero and why?
My parents, because they have supported me through success and failure and have always shown me that I can do anything I put my mind to.

What other activities/hobbies do you enjoy outside of softball?
Cooking/baking, reading and swimming.

If you could have dinner with anyone (dead or alive), who would it be and why?
Cat Osterman – she’s a pitching legend and I would love to talk to her about pitching and her philosophies. 

What is your favorite quote or motto? 
“Play every game as if it is your last.”
