The launch date for publication of the updated 2024 Extra Elite 100 is coming up quickly–it’s two weeks from today!
Next Monday is Labor Day and then Monday, September 14, 2020 we begin our extensive coverage, including player bios and photos, of the top current freshmen class.
We will wrap up the top 100 with the #1 overall prospect to be announced on Friday, September 25, 2020 and the following week—September 28-to-October 2—our site will feature the following:
- the Class of 2024 players ranked #’s 101-500,
- a spotlight on the top player in the class,
- position rankings (pitchers, catchers, infielders, outfielders)
This follows the previous Extra Elite 100 rankings published over the last year for the Classes of 2020, ’21, ’22 and ‘25. The 2023 Extra Elite 100 rankings were the most recently published (July, 2020).
Note: the next set of rankings after the 2024’s will be the 2021 Extra Elite 100 in October prior to Signing Day!
The rankings are led by Brentt Eads, Extra Inning Softball’s President & Executive Editor, along with the Extra Inning Softball staff and input from more than 250 college and club scouts and coaches.
Eads, who originated the top 100 rankings lists used in softball, has now ranked more than a decade of grad classes (2014 to 2025) with a total of 31 updates.

Note: recommendations/nominations are highly preferred from club and college coaches/scouts, but players and families can send info which will be kept on file.
