Infielder Eliyah Flores will return to Boise State for the 2023 season.

Flores will play her “super senior” year as a Bronco, changing course on an earlier decision to end her playing career with the 2022 campaign.

The older sister of Broncos outfielder Alycia Flores, the siblings transferred from Oklahoma to Boise State ahead of the 2022 season. Eliyah spent four years in an OU uniform prior to transferring, including the pandemic-abbreviated 2020 season and a redshirt year in 2021.

Eliyah was a First Team All-Mountain West selection last season, batting .323 on the year with four home runs, 25 RBIs, 34 runs scored, and nine doubles to her credit in 47 starts.

“We are extremely excited E has decided to start her master’s and use her last year of eligibility with us,” head coach Justin Shults said in a statement. “She is a gritty and hardworking athlete, who will be able to help us on and off the field.”

Boise State athletic director Jeremiah Dickey also shared his thoughts in response to a tweet announcing Flores’ return:
